Have you ever watched your phone battery drop to one or two percent and immediately started changing your behavior? You close apps. Turn down the brightness. Start looking for a charger like your life depends on it.
Your phone still works in Low Power Mode—but not the way it was designed to.
I wonder how many Christians are living the same way spiritually. We love Jesus. We’re saved. But we are trying to do everything God has called us to do while spiritually running on fumes.
Jesus Promised Help
Before Jesus left His disciples, He promised that they would not be left alone. In John 14, He called the Holy Spirit another Helper—the One who would be with them and in them.
The Holy Spirit is not an optional upgrade for unusually spiritual Christians. He is God’s presence with us: Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Strengthener and Guide.
Yet it is possible to believe in the Holy Spirit while living most of our lives without depending on Him.
Power for a Purpose
Acts 1:8 says, “You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me.” The power of the Spirit was never meant simply to give believers an experience. It was power for mission.
Look at the disciples before and after Pentecost. In John 20 they were behind locked doors because they were afraid. Weeks later, Acts 4 describes people amazed by Peter and John’s boldness.
Same disciples. Same opposition. What changed?
The difference was the empowering presence of the Holy Spirit.
They didn’t take a semester on courage. They encountered God.
Filled Again
Acts doesn’t describe being filled with the Spirit as merely a one-time memory. In Acts 4, believers who had already experienced Pentecost prayed and were filled again. They left that prayer meeting speaking God’s Word with boldness.
We need that same dependence. Not hype. Not spiritual performance. Not trying harder to manufacture courage. We need the Spirit of God filling ordinary people so we can live and speak like Jesus.
Get Connected to the Source
A dying phone doesn’t need encouragement. It needs power.
And sometimes the answer to spiritual exhaustion is not simply trying harder. It is surrendering again: “Holy Spirit, fill me. Lead me. Strengthen me. Use me.”
You were never meant to accomplish a Spirit-sized mission through human strength.
Get connected to the Source. Power up. And let the Holy Spirit make Jesus visible through you.
